Environmentally friendly, functional and cost-effective buildings and office spaces are, with other resources such as information technology and human resources, the backbone of any well-managed and attractive national statistical office (NSO). This Chapter starts by describing the required infrastructure to be provided to NSOs to produce statistics efficiently and effectively, putting staff members at the core. But the Chapter, based on the recent experience of COVID-19 and its impact on statistical activities, also covers mitigation measures to safeguard staff, protect production infrastructure and secure data from hazardous events such as natural disasters or sanitary crises. The Chapter conclude with finance management under budgetary constraints.
